Hunstanton
The resort town of Hunstanton is often referred to by locals as "Hunston" or "Sunny Hunny", and is the only East Coast seaside town in the UK where the sun actually sets to the west, over the sea. It is also famous for its multi-coloured cliffs, containing many fossils.
The town's boom as a resort cam after 1846, when locallandowner Henry Styleman Le Strange led the construction of a railway line from King's Lynn - but while Hunstanton still thrives as a popular daytrip and holiday destination, the railway line did not survive, being closed in 1969.
