Heacham
The village sign of Heacham, just south of Hunstanton, has as its centrepiece the native American woman Pocahontas, immortalised by the Walt Disney film for saving the life of a British colonist who was about to be killed by her tribe. She later married John Rolfe, who came from the Heacham family now buried at the 13th Century Norman church.
Having already become a Victorian seaside resort, Heacham is also well-known for Norfolk Lavender, which has grown to become a global exporter of floral fragrances and a major tourist attraction in its own right.
