Burnham Market is the largest of the Burnham villages, As the name implies, historically Burnham had a market but this ceased during the mid-19th Century.
In recent times Burnham Market has attracted a significant number of second-home owners, earning it the nickname Chelsea-on-sea. It also is the setting for the renowned pub and restaurant, the Hoste Arms, named after Captain William Hoste.
