You helped us raise £826 for Rebecca's Wishes!
Our recent work to raise money for local children's cancer charity Rebecca's Wishes has surpassed all expectations, with the combined amount from fares donated on 29 October from X29 passengers and on 21 November from FairsteadOne passengers reaching £826.20, which will be put to use helping the families of children diagnosed with cancer. Look out for one of our buses now named Rebecca Fairhead, in honour of the brave and selfless little girl who inspired the charity, and thank you all for your generous support.
Norfolk Green - winner of another UK Bus Award!
Norfolk Green has won the Department for Transport-sponsored Winning New Customers award in the prestigious 2008 UK Bus Awards competition.
The category rewards those bus operators and public authorities who have used innovative methods to reach out to new bus users, particularly those who previously used their car. Our entry has shown that our value for money and innovative fares and marketing, and the fact that we are consistently Norfolk's most reliable bus operator has seen year-on-year passenger growth on routes into King's Lynn of up to 24% - at the same time, King's Lynn's retail centre has continued to grow while use of the town's main car parks has remained broadly flat year-on-year.
We faced strong competition from other entries from Northern Ireland, the West Midlands, Nottingham, Cheshire and Reading for the coveted prize, which makes our achievement even more special!
